Vision : To promote employment opportunities by encour aging private initiatives for more jobs in
Central African Republic.
Background : With half the population unemployed as well as underemployed, youth
employment is a critical issue in Central African Republic and YES Central African Republic is
working to confront these challenges. Though government have established mechanisms and
resources to support various programs and operations for the promotion of incentives through
financing mechanisms to support initiatives, creating jobs and self-employment, and by creating
special funds focusing on the integration of target populations.
About the Network : YES Central African Republic was formed in 2001, and is autonomous. Its
activities are part of the policy established by the Minister of Youth. With such a mission CANYES
occupies a strategic position in the training sector, the fight against unemployment,
underemployment and the fight against poverty. The intervention of YES - RCA in the labor
market is based on agreements with agencies and professionals in the world of work and
business for the benefit of the unemployed. In this perspective, the State Convention-
Employers-private partnerships for youth employment are widely supported by CAN-YES.
Current Major Initiatives:
- YES-RCA offer services and institutional support for those players seeking information
or data or unwilling to communicate on youth and employment, demand and the
recruitment of young workers etc. Developed a supply of services for young job
seekers, training, supportive of ideas for projects or seeking funding for the day.
- YES RCA particularly emphasis on projects large capacity to generate employment,
especially agricultural.
- Support activities for young people with ideas for projects consist of: training, reception,
orientation; support for the formulation of projects and research funds and monitoring
and advisory assistance for the implementation of projects.
- Building the employability of youth is one of the main goals of CAR-YES.
- Initiated training for young job seekers with the aim to develop the employability of
young people and promote a better match between demand and supply of labor.
Key Accomplishments :
- YES RCA partners for all sectors involved in the field of socio-economic and youth
ministries, local authorities, international organizations, donors, civil society
organizations, development partners. These, as part of a dynamic partnership, design
and sign performance agreements with YES - RCA on projects and programs
concerning youth (example: Africa-vision SATEC industry)
- YES RCA developed information strategies of the unemployed on issues related to
employment.
- Home services and information are developed to make them accessible to young job
seekers all the information on labor law, and support them in their different approaches.
- YES RCA have developed the concepts of mobilizing young people and those involved
in the fight against unemployment to capture the most human, material and financial
resources around the strategies to implement.
