• As the YES Country Coordinator in Guyana he coordinated the first coalition of 5 countries for a national youth employment program called Youth Employment Spark* (YES)
• His vision is to provide the youth with adequate training and opportunity, so that they can even rise beyond their own expectations.
• Has guided the entrepreneurs and also served as guarantor for youth to access affordable loans, while establishing a revolving fund.
• He signed on the Volunteer Youth Corps (VYC) in 2005 as coordinator of the ‘Guyana Information Youth Project’.
• His excellent work for advancement of the youth has promoted his current designation as livelihood development officer for Volunteer Youth Corps.
• Analyzing the need of the increasing number of out-of school youth looking for jobs, he channeled his efforts towards raising awareness of the issue at the national level, raising awareness on youth employment issues and designing programs for providing employment opportunities for young people.
• Darren established and coordinated the ‘Enhancing Youth Employability’ program at VYC.
