Vision : Youth Engagement Services (YES) Network Pakistan envisions a society where all young people particularly poor and at-risk young people are valued without any discrimination as the most promising resource for socio-economic development.

Background : There is a youth quake in Pakistan, as 70% of the total population is under the age of 29. There are no programs or policies for disadvantaged, half-educated, socially-excluded youth in Pakistan. Enormous talent, intelligence, and positive energy is being wasted as these young people are being left behind. YES Network Pakistan is launched to fill this gap by assisting young people in becoming selfreliant and contributing members of the society.

About the Network : Registered as Youth Engagement Services, YES Pakistan Network consists of 100 youth serving networks focusing on developing social entrepreneurships. The network is involved in conceptualizing, designing and successfully implementing community service and youth development programs specially for socially excluded young girls and women living in an under resourced and victimized conditions.

Current Major Initiatives:

  • The YES Leader of this Network has played a pioneering role in designing and implementing firstever youth service, entrepreneurship and sexual reproductive health programs for under-served and at-risk youth of population in partnership with local, national and international organizations
  • Engaged over 2000 isolated, socially-excluded and at-risk young people in a variety of community building activities and enabled them to enhance their capacity and re-build their identity in their communities. Established and completed successfully over 150 female literacy centers with the help of socially-excluded and marginalized young girls.
  • Provided education, personal development, and skill building opportunities to over 7000 neglected and destitute children, young people
  • Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS - Conducted over 100 awareness raising sessions on sexual reproductive health.
  • Relief and Rehabilitation Program in Earthquake-affected Areas - 120 youth service volunteers involved and partnered with AJWS, Philanthropists and Youth Service Volunteers in establishing community-based micro social enterprises.
  • Established non-formal schools in Lahore -funded by literacy department
  • ICT Movement- 14 Computer centers are est ablished in disadvantaged communities and around 990 children and young are trained.
  • Organizes training on the development of business plans for the selected youth to build their capacities in basic areas of Micro Social Enterprise Programming.
  • Launched the concept of service learning in the leading educational institutions of Pakistan. Over 300 teachers have been trained and over 100 service learning projects have been launched by the students of these educational institutions.

Key Accomplishments :

  • Established over 100 indigenous Youth Service Networks to enable them to start-up their own social entrepreneurships programs throughout Pakistan. These Networks are providing care, support, education, skills development and income generating opportunities to over 10,000 people.
  • Youth Social Entrepreneurship Competition in technical and vocational institutions of Pakistan - YES Network Pakistan either invites or receives expression of interest from young people living in low-income or under-privileged communities either directly or through its partner selected under youth incubator program. They select those youth who are interested, innovative, passionate, visionary and forward-looking in their approach to serve their communities
  • Has formed partnerships with Donor organizations and other international agencies like UNICEF, National Commission for Human Development, KSB Pumps, British Council, American Jewish World Service, Global Knowledge Partnership, US State Department, Ashoka, Frontline, Innovations in Civic Partnership.
  • A grant of US$514,285 is approved by the Ministry of Social Welfare for YES Network Pakistan in expanding its program throughout Pakistan.
