We have now successfully concluded the 4th Global Youth Employment Summit in Baku, Azerbaijan from September 24 – 26, 2008. I want to congratulate the Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth Affairs for doing a great job or organizing this Summit. And I want to thank HE Mrs. Meherban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan; and HE Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, First Lady of Egypt for being our gracious patrons. We met in the beautiful city of Baku and celebrated 6 years of the Campaign and planned for the next Global Summit which will be held in Sweden in 2010.
This Summit was addressing the issues of Enterprise Solutions to Poverty Eradication. We know that there are not enough jobs in the private or public sectors and we have to create markets and unleash entrepreneurship. Over the next two years our goal is to build partnerships and develop programs for large scale enterprise creation in the green economy. We need your support.
We can pull together the energy, enthusiasm, innovation and drive of youth to resolve these and other issues, and they need us to partner with them, to believe in them, and to mentor and support them. All of us at YES believe that this can be done and that is what has brought us so far…we dream and work to make our dreams come true.
Friends, it has been a wonderful ride so far and I continue to look forward to the adventures that come.
